Expert Witness: book review feedback

By Anna Sandiford 18/07/2011

Firstly, it’s a nerve-wracking experience to have colleagues read your work; it’s even more nerve-wracking for them, fellow scientists and people who I don’t know to read something that is as personal as this book, Expert Witness, is about my job. So I thank Grant Jacobs for his book review and am relieved that the waiting is over!

As for the questions raised in his Comments section, I look forward to answering them as blog posts in the coming weeks; and if there are any more questions, feel free to let me know and I’ll answer them as well as I am able.

For me, the most interesting thing about this book-publishing episode has been the questions that people have asked as a result of reading it. As a person working in the industry, it’s often very difficult to know what people either find interesting about forensic science or what they don’t know about the subject; these questions have been very eye-opening and they are always fascinating to read – no two people seem to get the same thing out of the book, which is in itself interesting.

I look forward to seeing who won! And thank you for all the positive feedback via Grant’s blog post.
