Dr Woo meets Dr Skeptic

The Dr Oz show, an offshoot of the Oprah Show, draws criticism from mainstream medical professionals regarding it’s tendency to promote pseudoscientific practices in medicine. One of its better known critics is Dr Steven Novella, from the Skeptics Guide to the Universe who recently appeared on the Dr Oz show. Despite Dr Oz having control over the topics (and no doubt editing) I think Dr Novella comes across very well. A discussion from Dr Novella’s point of view can be found here.
Dr Oz uses many of the techniques often associated with pseudoscience, however, Dr Novella counters them rather effectively. It’s good to see eloquent and intelligent skeptics tackling the woo peddlers head on.
